We now proudly offer Pro-Nox, a patient-controlled analgesic that helps calm patient’s nerves allowing them to feel comfortable during treatment.

What is Pro-Nox?

Pro-Nox is a patient-controlled inhaler that delivers a combination of 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide to alleviate pain and anxiousness. Nitrous is one of the oldest sedatives in medicine, it’s use dates back more than a century. It is commonly known as laughing gas. While it is not a replacement for anesthesia, it does complement and enhance the effects of local anesthetics, like lidocaine.

Nitrous takes effect in seconds and wears off in about five minutes so you can drive home with no downtime. While it is self-administered by the patient, the system contains a number of safety measures, like an automated shut-off system based on how much gas has been administered.
