Dr. Zubowski Answers Your Plastic Surgery Questions

Plastic surgery questions answered.

Have you been considering getting plastic surgery but are looking for answers before making a decision? Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Zubowski has years of experience educating patients and helping them feel comfortable with their decisions to have surgery or not. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear your questions, talk with you about your options and see what we can do to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

What does it mean to be board certified?

When a plastic surgeon says they are ‘board-certified’, they have obtained certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This reflects the highest standard of training and expertise, essential for optimal results. Dr. Zubowski is board-certified with over 20 years of experience and has been named one of the 10 best plastic surgeons in the country by Aesthetic Everything®.

Do you offer financing options?

Yes, we believe that everyone deserves to look and feel their best, and finances shouldn’t stand between you and your aesthetic goals. We offer a number of options including cash, certified checks, all major credit cards, payment plans and CareCredit financing. You can apply for CareCredit online or at our office. How can I view real patient results before my consultation?

You can check out our before and after gallery to view hundreds of real patient results. Create a MyFavorites account and save any before and afters you think you might like to use as examples to show us. Why does it seem like plastic surgery is becoming more and more affordable with better technology, but the opposite happens for the rest of medicine?
Like most things, the cost of cosmetic surgery continues to increase over time. Likely due to reality TV, plastic surgery has become more mainstream and is not something people feel they need to hide. Therefore we simply hear more about it now. And buyer beware! Cheap prices may reflect a lack of training and board-certification.

Which procedures are most common among men?

Liposuction of abdomen and love handles, blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), and facelifts.

What age is too young for plastic surgery?

This is controversial but I would say anything under 18 years old. Younger for congenital deformities, but there is something to be said for letting an adult make a decision for themselves. I have yet to see a cosmetic “emergency” that needed a procedure STAT and couldn’t wait a year or two.

Does plastic surgery always produce a scar which must be hidden?

Always.

What is the best bargain in plastic surgery? Which procedure would give most people the most satisfaction and improvements for the amount of time and money spent?

Harder to answer. It really depends what it is that bothers you. Taking all comers, Botox for certain wrinkles is the best bargain. It eliminates the wrinkles for up to 4 months and does not require any surgery and therefore downtime.

I advise all my patients to take their time when making this important decision to undergo plastic surgery. If you have any other questions, please contact us at The Robert Zubowski, MD Center For Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. I look forward to hearing from you and being a part of achieving your aesthetic goals.
