Dr. Robert Zubowski Discusses the Ups and Downs of a Facelift

After decades of consultations I’ve noticed that most individuals mistakenly believe a facelift addresses the entire face. In truth, it revitalizes only the mid-face and neck.

At the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus, NJ we will often combine a facelift with a browlift, or a blepharoplasty, to maintain proper facial balance. These combined interventions afford the most effective way to achieve the harmonious, natural look patients seek.

Recently, you may have heard about the Threadlift and the S-Lift, less invasive facelift procedures. In my experience, a facelift properly performed in the traditional manner by lifting the deeper underlying muscles and tissues (SMAS), gets superior results. Today, a classic facelift can last for up to 15 years or more, depending on the quality of your skin and your devotion to a good skincare routine.

Before “signing on” have all of your questions answered to your satisfaction. Now is not the time for timidity. Discuss downtime, when you can resume unrestricted head movements, drive, go the office, and assume your normal routine. Is your surgeon board-certified and does he have a wealth of experience in performing facelifts routinely? A significant part of achieving a successful facelift lies with his technical and artistic skills. At the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery a facelift is among my routine repertoire of surgeries. The “windswept effect” is not among our results. Rather, we strive for a completely natural look that doesn’t shout plastic surgery.
