Lateral Brow Lift

A lateral lift (temporal lift) is a procedure that aims to lift the lateral (outer) portion of the brow to restore arch aesthetics. It is a smaller procedure than a forehead lift and is not as comprehensive for forehead rejuvenation. Instead, the lateral lift or temporal lift focuses on raising the lateral brow and temple region. It does not eliminate wrinkles between the eyes or central forehead. Since it is a lesser procedure, the recovery tends to be faster with less bruising and swelling.

Mini-brow Lift

Patients who do not require a full lift can opt for a mini lift that can be performed under local anesthesia. It is ideal for patients who only wish to minimally lift the brows or wish to balance uneven brows. This impressive technique improves the arch in patients with brow flattening. The mini-brow lift is a quick, minimally invasive, non-endoscopic method that is used to correct the frontalis forehead muscles and the over-pull of the eyebrow depressors (“frown lines”). Elevation of the eyebrow along the bony arch and symmetry of the eyebrow position can be achieved, often softening the “hooding” of the upper eyelid and eliminating the need for upper eyelid incisions.

Direct Lift

A direct lift is used to treat brow ptosis arising from either involutional changes or facial nerve palsy. A direct lift involves removing segments of skin and muscle just above the eyebrows. The incision is hidden within the brow hair. A direct brow lift does not address wrinkles or lines within the forehead and surgical scars may be prominent. A direct lift is typically reserved for older patients or for men with thick eyebrow hair and male pattern baldness for which other eyebrow lift techniques might result in unacceptable elevation of the hairline.

Ultherapy Lift

An Ultherapy lift can enhance eyebrow elevation and works well for those individuals who do not want a plastic surgery procedure. Ultherapy is the only FDA-approved device for this purpose. It accomplishes the lift by stimulating the production of collagen to produce tightening and lifting. It can provide a natural lift to the brows that improves over several months. The peak effect will be seen between three and six months when you will see a lifted brow and a refreshed look.

Frequently Asked Questions About Brow Lift Nj

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that raises the eyebrows to reduce forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and sagging skin above the eyes. This procedure aims to restore a more youthful and refreshed appearance to the upper face.

Ideal candidates for a brow lift are individuals in good overall health who have sagging eyebrows, deep forehead wrinkles, or frown lines that make them appear tired or angry. Non-smokers with realistic expectations about the outcomes of the surgery are also considered suitable candidates.

Dr. Zubowski offers a range of brow lift techniques tailored to individual needs, including:

  • Lateral Brow Lift (Temporal Lift): Targets the outer brow and temple area to restore arch aesthetics.
  • Mini-Brow Lift: A minimally invasive procedure ideal for patients seeking subtle enhancements.
  • Direct Brow Lift: Involves removing skin and muscle just above the eyebrows, suitable for specific cases like facial nerve palsy.
  • Ultherapy Brow Lift: A non-surgical option using ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen production and lift the brow area.

Recovery time varies depending on the individual and the surgical technique used. Generally, patients can expect swelling and bruising to subside within 10 to 14 days. Most individuals return to work and normal activities within two weeks, with full recovery taking several weeks.

Scarring is a consideration with any surgical procedure. However, in brow lifts, incisions are typically made within the hairline or natural creases of the forehead to minimize visibility. Over time, scars usually fade and become less noticeable.

The results of a brow lift are long-lasting, often enduring for several years. While the procedure cannot stop the aging process, it can significantly reduce signs of aging in the upper face. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and skincare routine can help prolong the results.

As with any surgical procedure, a brow lift carries potential risks, including infection, bleeding, scarring, asymmetry, and changes in skin sensation. Choosing Dr. Zubowski and following pre- and post-operative instructions can minimize these risks.

Yes, a brow lift is often performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facelifts, or skin resurfacing treatments, to achieve a more comprehensive enhancement of the facial appearance.

While both procedures aim to rejuvenate the upper face, a brow lift focuses on elevating the eyebrows and smoothing the forehead, whereas blepharoplasty targets the eyelids by removing excess skin and fat to correct drooping or puffiness.

The cost of a brow lift varies based on factors like the complexity of the procedure. It’s advisable to consult with Dr. Zubowski to obtain a detailed quote and understand what’s included in the pricing.
