Dr. Robert Zubowski uses several innovative techniques to help provide our patients with precise results and accelerated recovery time.
During the more traditional tumescent lipoplasty, Dr. Zubowski will infuse large amounts of a dilute local anesthetic solution mixed with epinephrine into the targeted area through small incisions. Epinephrine helps counteract bleeding while the anesthetic ensures that you remain comfortable throughout and after your procedure. Once the tissues in the target area have tumesced or firmed, Dr. Zubowski is able to remove the fat using a small cannula. Liposuction recovery time is minimal and you can normally return to light exercise within a few days of the cosmetic procedure.
We recognize that not all patients are the same. For this reason Dr. Zubowski will spend ample time during your consultation at our Paramus, NJ headquarters at the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. A primary goal of your initial consultation is to identify what you want to achieve with liposuction. Subsequently, in the days that follow, he will design a treatment plan that is right for you. Also, during your one-to-one consultation Dr. Zubowski will discuss your body contouring goals, and outline what is possible with liposuction. He will also help you decide between non-invasive lipo procedures such as CoolSculpting or Kybella. Liposuction frequently is combined with other plastic surgery procedures such as breast reduction, a facelift or a tummy tuck. In addition, Dr. Zubowski will review your medical history. Liposuction is riskier for patients with a medical history such as heart and lung disease, poor blood circulation, diabetes or for those having had recent surgery near the area to be treated.
The fees for liposuction vary, depending upon the work you wish to have done, the kind of anesthesia chosen, and surgery center fees. Once you’ve had your in-person consultation with Dr. Zubowski, our Patient Coordinator, Dana Van Gray, will be able to give you a detailed quote.
Patients with the most successful outcomes are either those healthy individuals wishing to compliment their weight loss program, healthy women who might have larger thighs or men who are unhappy with their love handles. A few traits of ideal liposuction candidates include firm, elastic skin with pockets of excess fat in certain areas. Age is a minor concern however, older patients have less skin elasticity and may not achieve as good a result as young patients with better skin elasticity.
