When we designed the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus, NJ, I had my architects include a state-of-the-art surgery center to offer my patients the convenience and comfort of in-house surgery. Today, nearly all of my surgeries are performed at the Surgicenter. Having a surgical facility integral with the Center affords significant benefits. First, I have full control of the surgical environment as well as the medical professionals with whom I work. I employ a professional staff of board certified anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and technicians who specialize in plastic surgery cases. Since these same individuals regularly work with me, and are accustomed to each other’s professional styles, we form a highly efficient working team. For those patients who may want or need an overnight post-op stay we also have accommodations that reflect the ambiance of a luxury hotel suite. Patients are monitored by their own private duty registered nurse. Is having your surgery performed in such an environment right for you? For most people undergoing plastic surgery I would say yes, with a few caveats. Your plastic surgeon needs to be board-certified. In addition to being board certified in plastic surgery, I am also board-certified in general surgery, and have more than 25 years of experience in plastic surgery. Just as important is your anesthesiologist who, in my opinion, also must be board-certified. Before deciding where your surgery is to be performed you should satisfy yourself about the pristine condition of the in-house operating arena by simply requesting a quick tour. In my practice typically I will perform procedures on patients with complicated medical conditions, or planning extensive multiple procedures in a hospital setting, generally at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. For more information or to schedule a tour of our center and Surgicenter please contact our Practice Manager, Ann Carbone.
“Recommending Dr. Zubowski is a no brainer for me because he doesn’t treat just the issue you’re going to see him for, he treats your entire you. The entire person.”
