Breast augmentation continues to be high on the list of requests for plastic surgery by our female patients. In my practice at the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus, NJ it’s a rare week indeed, when we’re not performing yet another of these procedures. Because the desire to improve upon nature is such a motivating factor few people would be surprised that breast augmentation is one of our most frequently requested procedures.   But did you know that the chin implant is being recognized as the fastest growing plastic surgery?  Chin implants are not new, so why is it now trending so high? One explanation may be the prevalence of the video chat as a common form of business and to social interaction. For many individuals who have accepted what they perceive to be an unflattering jaw line or weak chin, seeing themselves on the screen can dramatically emphasize their dissatisfaction with their facial image. In my opinion, two of the most prominent  (and correctable) facial “flaws” are a weak chin, and a “double” chin. Did you know that the chin and the jawline are among the first areas to exhibit the telling signs of aging? For these individuals plastic surgery could be the answer.   Other reasons for the rise in requests for chin implants, reports the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), is the desire of aging baby boomers to remain competitive in the workplace and in finding a mate. Maintaining a youthful, fresh appearance helps to keep them spot on in their game with the younger players.

In the same ASPS report the other cosmetic procedures that grew in popularity last year were lip augmentation; cheek implantation; laser skin resurfacing; and soft tissue fillers, in that order.   To set up your plastic surgery consultation, please contact our office manager.
