Dr. Zubowski shares his visions on plastic surgery in 2016

At this time of year it’s always amusing to hear the experts predict New Year trends. So not to be left out I’d like to offer my thoughts on plastic surgery trends in 2016.

Last year at the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus, NJ, more patients than ever explored their cosmetic surgery options. While some wanted permanent improvements that only can be accomplished through plastic surgery, we also saw an increasing number of patients who opted for a facelift without surgery – injectable facial fillers, such as Radiesse®, Juvéderm®, and Botox®, to make subtle cosmetic changes. This year I expect the trend toward non-invasive cosmetic procedures will continue.

I believe that it’s safe to say that in 2016 women looking for breast enhancements will be emphasizing shape over size. Those who are heavily endowed will be consulting about breast reductions, and the women who want or need a breast augmentation procedure may be choosing a smaller breast implant size or may opt for a breast lift.

We’ve been performing a significant number of buttock augmentations for years, and since my practice at the Robert Zubowski MD Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Paramus, NJ, typically follows the national trend, I expect to be performing even more of these procedures in the upcoming months.

For several years now lip augmentation procedures have captured the imagination of many women. In 2016, from what I’ve read and seen within my own medical practice it appears that we will be performing even more of these lip enhancement procedures. A lip augmentation can be a temporary fix or of a more permanent nature. We can offer options that last between 12 months to several years. We can now also offer you the most permanent solution to date, which involves placing a small, soft silicone lip implant under the soft tissue of your upper or lower lip. All of these alternatives can be explored during our consultation.

If you’d like to find out which specific non-surgical or surgical cosmetic procedures can best accomplish your aesthetic goals, please contact our practice manager to set up your one-to-one consultation with me.
