CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting for a hot shape

This new innovative approach to fat reduction is taking the cosmetic surgery industry by storm. Simply explained, CoolSculpting freezes fat cells and destroys them. The crystallized fat cells are then flushed from your system during the body’s natural cleansing and removal of foreign organisms and toxins.

This process is a non-surgical fat removal procedure with little discomfort and virtually no recovery time. No general or local anesthesia is required during treatment, which is an added benefit. While CoolSculpting is not conducive to major weight loss, it is ideal for treating stubborn fatty areas such as the stomach, mid-back, hips, love handles, neck and back of arms.

Most people with stubborn pockets of fat, especially in the belly and thighs, are perfect candidates for CoolSculpting. This innovative procedure will actually remove the fat, instead of simply shrinking it. The procedure is perfect for treating fatty areas that are not responsive to diet and exercise. So if you are looking for just a little help getting rid of those love handles or belly bulge, this CoolSculpting is perfect for you.

The CoolSculpting device targets one specific location at a time. Each location is treated for approximately 30-60 minutes. During the CoolSculpting procedure fatty areas are slightly pinched between the device’s applicator. The device delivers a controlled cooling to the exact temperature that will freeze and kill the targeted fat cells. And because fats and lipids crystallize (freeze) faster than other cells, there is no damage to nerves or tissue surrounding the treatment area. Over the next few weeks and months the fat cells shrink and begin to die, and the frozen fat cells are naturally metabolized and evacuated from the body.

CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared for treatment of fatty areas in the thighs, abdomen and flank. No general or local anesthesia is required and no incisions are made into the skin. This treatment is the epitome of a non-invasive cosmetic procedure. With hundreds of successful CoolSculpting non-surgical fat reduction procedures given all over the world, the cosmetic treatment is proven to be safe and effective.

A common fear associated with CoolSculpting is frostbite. During the CoolSculpting process, the cold selectively affects only the fat cells in the targeted area and since fat cells freeze quicker than other cells, such as skin cells, and at a lower temperature no frostbite is experienced. The CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure safely delivers precise cooling to gently freeze only the fat cells underneath the skin.

To date, no serious side effects have been reported from the CoolSculpting non-surgical fat reduction procedure. The treatment area may turn red, show some bruising or you may experience numbness. Typically, within a week, these transitory side effects will resolve.

No preparation for this non-invasive cosmetic procedure is necessary. Neither general nor local anesthesia is given so diet restrictions are unnecessary. During your one-to-one consultation, Dr. Zubowski will map out a custom treatment plan targeting your specific fat reduction goals. The amount and frequency of your sessions will be based on your treatment plan. During treatment you are free to listen to music, nap, read a book, play games on a mobile device or check emails and surf the Internet. After treatment you can resume normal activities without restrictions.

While no diet restrictions or exercise routines are required, the results from this effective, non-invasive fat reduction treatment seems to inspire patients to start eating better and moving around more or regularly exercising. We’ll put it down to the euphoric feelings from their new, slimmer physique.

For six months following treatment your body will be metabolizing fat cells. The most dramatic results will be seen after two months; however, you may see some results as quickly as three weeks after the procedure.

As with most cosmetic procedures, the cost of the CoolSculpting treatment depends on the areas being treated. Contact our practice to arrange a CoolSculpting consultation appointment. During your one-to-one consultation, Dr. Zubowski will work with you to create a customized treatment plan specific to your personal requirements, including fat reduction goals, time and budget.
